About Our Preschool Levels

In our preschool programs, we focus on your child’s early development using a progressive approach to education. At Goodstart, we believe in learning through action, offering engaging activities for your child’s growth and success.

2s – Pre-Nursery Program

The Pre-Nursery level is a daily 2-hour program designed to promote exploration and discovery for young children. In this program,  children engage in busy and quiet areas for play in a balanced daily schedule. This class involves age appropriate activities such as story-telling, music and movement, and sensory play that develop emergent literacy skills. Furthermore, we hone their gross and fine motor skills through engaging activities that will practice their coordination, balance, and attention to the task at hand.

3s – Junior Nursery Program

The Jr. Nursery level is a daily 2 hour class that provides an introduction to center-based learning with a fixed class time. This arrangement enables children to explore topics that are of interest to them. Our literature-based curriculum supports authentic learning experiences for the children to develop their cognitive, social and physical skills. A thematic approach integrates subjects like language arts, math, science, social studies, music and movement, art and crafts. 

4s – Senior Nursery Program

The daily 2.5 hour Sr. Nursery level focuses on enhancing center-based learning and traditional class time with literature-based instruction. This program cultivates cognitive, social, and physical skills with extra attention given to developing logical, problem-solving skills. Additional emphasis is also given to writing, listening, and communication skills at this level. A thematic approach integrates subjects like language arts, math, science, social studies, music and movement, art and crafts. Chinese/Mandarin lessons are also included in this level.

5s – Kindergarten Program

The Kindergarten level takes on a more challenging task of preparing the children for entry into primary school. We focus on building fundamental reading, math, and writing skills with stimulating and challenging activities that are literature-based. This class highlights building communication skills coupled with beginning literacy skills. Confidence in learning and self-expression are goals for our learners. A thematic approach integrates subjects like language arts, math, science, social studies, music and movement, art and crafts.  Chinese/Mandarin lessons are also included in this level.
